Nuke 5.5 Requirements

I think HR does, but just to make sure, I have to ask.
Does HR have all the stuff needed to work with PHPNuke 5.5?
If not what do I need?

Yes, everything is there.

I run http://deusto.com in their server (it is PHP Nuke 5.0, but the requirements are the same)

It is very simple. You only have to look for other posting on these forums. It has been explained before.

Just upload the tar file to your root directory, and unzip it (before, rename html_public into html, and after the unzipping, change it back, because PHPNuke uses html by default)

Then create a database from the Control Panel and an user for that database and follow the PHPNuke instructions.

O' thanks. I hope this is all worth it. The only reason i'm using nuke is i'm thinking in the long runs its a lot easier to mantian.

if you want a simple to use easy to maintain website, nuke is the way forward :-)

the only problems i've had with it are with the upgrades, but they are getting better each time.

Yes, upgrades are a pain. That's why I am stuck with 5.0 ...

Well, they are not so difficult, but if you change your themes a lot, you could run into some problems afterwards.

Still, it is a very easy to use and maintain software. I also use it for http://SomethingIsRotten.com (ver 5.5 this time) and it is a delight, specially with the sindicated news and forums integrated.

DO I need to CHMOD all the files and directories?

I only chomoded the config file and that was it.

In any case, that it is very easy to chmod with an FTP program.

i remember when i first started with nuke i went througbn and chmodded ever single file 666 an every directory 777. You need to remember that you only chmodd the directories in the root *"public_html"* 666 and teh directoreis in that folder 777. Well looks like my partner figured things out, but there are still a few small things thats frustrating and inconvient. We used a subdomain, so we wouldn't loose anything incase we decided that we hate nuke. Anyways...tell me if I'm right. We should be able to type in http://projectvirus.heavensrogues.com and poof! Nuke page shows up... but it doesn't instead you have to type http://projectvirus.heavensrogues.com/PHPnuke/html/ which sucks. Do we just get rid of the folder PHPnuke, but keep the stuff in that file?

Very simple. Rename the html folder into projectvirus, and move it to html_public. Maybe you will need a few steps in between, like renaming the folder temporaryNuke, moving it to public_html, delete the existing projectvirus folder, and renaming the termporaryNuke to projectvirus.

Try it. But backup everything first.

my suggestion to you is to reinstall the entire thing, databse also.

Make sure when you upload the files, upload everything in the /html/ folder directly into /public_html/ , make a fresh installation of the database and see if this helps.
