Exclamation open bb problem....why wont it work?

why wont openbb work? it is supposed to be preinstalled, especially since it comes with the little icon on my control panel.....
everytime i try to install it, i get this error:

Now setting up tables... DB ERROR: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ')' at line 1; Setup halted
ALTER TABLE vars ADD INDEX()


what does this mean and how do i fix it?

any help would be greatly appreciated

because openBB sucks I use vBulletin. you'd like that one much better

Sure, go to openbb.net and download the latest working version. You have to upload the files, chmod a couple of files and directories, make sure your database is setup and that you have the admin login and password handy.

Log into the place where you put it (the openbb files) with yoururl.com/setup.php and within a minute your board will be up and working. I setup another openbb message board this weekend on hostrocket. From the time the openbb.net site loaded (for getting the latest version) until the time i was making the first test post was less than 10 minutes and that included a 3 minute smoke break...Don't forget to move, rename, or un-chmod the setup.php and voila...The included setup for openbb has never worked for me and I have tried it on 3 different hostrocket accounts, must be outdated. The guys over at openbb.net have a good working version posted and it really is a breeze to install so long as you have an FTP client which makes uploading and chmod simply childish easy.
