phpwebsite and openbb sharing same user database?

I would like to have my phpwebsite and openbb forum share the same user database. that way once someone creates an account on my webpage the account will also work on the openbb forum and vise versa. Im not very skilled in the ways of php or mysql so if anyone has done this let me know please!
