I would like a news program to be made. It needs to have the following features:

Programmable Templates
Different variables like $newstilte or $date
It will automatically display and Read More link if the story gets too long.
Different levels of login, like master user and news(only) poster

There are lots of features I need, but I want it to be almost exactly like the one seen at http://www.mtgnews.com . It needs to be in PHP and I don't care whether it is MySQL or not. It needs to have installation instructions. Once you build it, you may call it what you want. I can not pay for this being done, but I will display a link, or banner, or button on my site for you or your site. I can host the website for the news program, if you wish, instead of a banner or button. After you deliver and I am happy with it you can modify it or sell it, and you will have ntohing to do with me, unless i have a problem down the road. Ok - this is neat. You are going to give the programmer rights to sell his own stuff? And what makes you think some one is going to spend time writing a full news engine for you, and not get paid? News engines can't exactly be done in an over night coding session [unless its simplistic]. Have you seen other news/blog engines? Coders spend weeks and months writing them. And offering just a link wouldn't be worth the time - no one ever clicks links. Well, they did 5 years ago, but not any more.

I suggest you learn PHP and write one...or find a free on you can use, because I doubt anyone here will be doing this.

Like previously stated; I also doubt that anyone will write you a full news script for free; however you could try to write your own and ask questions if you need any help. Im afraid unless you have the cash, no one around here is willing to give up their time to write you a news script and write it in a specific time frame.

I have a very low budget, so just wondering, but how much would it cost to have someone make this for me?? I can also extend the deadline, if needed.

Yes I must apologize, I was not being very welcoming and I should be setting an example for everyone else. So first, I apologize for being rather harsh mgtforums, and welcome to coderforums.net

However it is true, unless you pay someone to do this it is unlikely they will just go all out and volunteer. Typically, for a project as detailed as you are describing, I would say it would cost upwards 100 dollars, but I am not sure because I typically don't do 'for sale' work. I am sure Bryan could give you a better estimate as he does do alot of work making software and would probably know the proper pricing.

Well the only group of people likely to take you up on you offer are the ones with little professional experience that need some resume-building stuff. I don't think you're going to be able to find any of those type here :-)

As for the cost...for what this guy wants....you're looking at a MINIMUM of a few thousand $$ (to get it done right at least). If you're not looking to shell out ANY cash do it yer damn self.

If it gets that bad, so be it. Currently I won't because it is their right to ask for stuff, just as it is a programmers right to deny the use of stuff. Like i said, if it gets unbearable I will change it.
