Voice Mail for each Virtual Number

I was reading the General area of the forum and found that there is only one mailbox for all numbers in an account.

I'll throw out that it would be really nice for ViaTalk to have a phone mailbox for each virtual number.

nuff said.

I Agree

I agree that the Virtual Number should have its own voicemail and forwarding options. I know SunRocket is dead, but this was a nice feature of SR. I had my virtual number set to go straight to voicemail. I actually had it set to be a score reporting line for baseball. That way I could receive calls on my main number, and just get VMs on my virtual.

Thanks!

I wanted to add my vote. I'm a SR refugee. I would like to forward a second virtual number differently than my main number.

Another vote for this - it was a great Sunrocket feature.

Yes it was a great feature, but in the end look where they ended up. I could see if VT charged a few extra bucks for it, but not give it away.

I would be thrilled to have this feature. It was one of the things that drew me to Sunrocket over others in the first place. I'd even be willing to pay a little extra in order to make it happen.

There is almost a fix for having a mailbox for virtual number. There is something called a comswitch that redirects a phone call depending on what ring the phone is using. I have a fax machine that is set up to detect the ring sequence for my virtual number and main line call go to what ever.

You could put an answer machine on the line using with a comswitch. Just do a search for comswitch and the information on how it works will show up.

I also cast my vote for this option. We are already paying extra for an extra number, VT should offer us this option.

I still want this feature. But, I saw somewhere on this forum that that feature is "not likely to happen". But, I'd still pay extra for it.

This should be a standard feature

We should have features on the virtual number. This caught me by surprise that it doesn't even show up under my account. It works, but I can't control anything with it. I also had my Sunrocket virtual number forwarded to a fax line and it worked great. I will probably end up taking my virtual number and transferring it to another provider as it is a number I have used for years.

I agree that the virtual number should have actual features. Even if it was a dollar or two more for voicemail, distinctive ring, and all the forwarding options that the main line has.

ViaTalk would say, just pay for a complete second line. But it would be nice to offer a non-business plan that really had two actual phone lines.

I just got everything set up (it took a couple of months) so I am not rushing to switch services again.....but I am checking out the features of other companies. I like a lot of the features that ViaTalk has, but I hope that ViaTalk is investing in upgrading their features to really be the company that is "re-writing the rules for phone service flexibility and ease of use."
