View Full Version : Email problems- please help!

hi, I'm having a problem with my email account that has been going on for a couple of weeks and I have not been able to figure it out.

About three weeks ago, I couldn't log into my webmail...that lasted about a week. My service provider does not allow POP 3 accounts outside of its own IP so webmail is my only way of checking email. Once I gained access to my account again, I started getting strange messages. They were ENTIRELY blank. No subject, no sender (or headers), no text, nothing. Not even a date. The only information it had was the size, and everytime I reloaded the size was different than the size before. Also, I could not delete these messages. If I tried to delete them, it would send a copy to the trash but keep a copy in my inbox. They were also marked as unread even though I'd opened a couple. I got them two at a time, and I get more regularly (I'd say about two a week). Another thing I have noticed is that I am getting numerous copies of the same email. It is not a specific user's heavy hand because it's happening with all my emails. I am receiving anywhere between 2 to 5 copies of a given email.

I tried to delete the email and set it back up, but when I did that, I just ended up with my old box- with all my old emails, including the ones I couldn't delete. At least the numerous copies of regular emails I'm getting- I can delete.
Does anyone know what the heck is going on?? There are no attachements on the blank emails, so I doubt they are a virus, but I don't know. PLEASE help me!

Log on to your account at www.rocketsupport.oom and submit a trouble ticket from there.

Check back there periodically to see if there is a reply to your TT.

I can't do that because it is my friend's account and she hosts me. She's never around so I couldn't ask her to send in the trouble ticket herself, and the only password I have is the FTP password, not the technical support password. Is there anything else I can do or anyone who has had this problem before? Thanks in advance,

Thank you so much Shantra!! It worked, I'm not awaiting a response. I have a LAST question: do trouble tickets get charged on the account or are they free? Thanks for all the help, hopefully it'll all work out now. :)

Yes, all support from Hostrocket is free.
I am pretty sure that the support theme will solve all of you problems. Well at least as far as it goes for your Hostrocket problems!!!
