I am starting a new thread on any issues people have with the transition from the old to new mail server. HR is planning on transitioning everyone over starting in a few weeks. Some of us, including me, have already been transitioned as beta testers.

Most of my issues have been resolved except for DNS propigation. The new mail server host name is mailbox.hrnoc.net. Your new mail server name will be mailbox.YOURDOMAINNAME.com. It's been 2 days now and not all of my e-mail is going to the new mail server. Also, I still have to use mailbox.hrnoc.net instead of my server name as incoming and outgoing mail server in Outlook Express.

Does anybody know the maximum time it would take for mail server DNS to propigate through all channels? I am connected to a Cox.net backbone and it does not seem to have propigated through it yet. Also, it does not seem to have propigated through AOL's backbone either. I don't understand why this would be taking so long. Is this something I should contact Cox about, or just be patient and wait a few days. I'm concerned that it might be an issue with HR.

Thanks,

Well if the address you have listed in your profile is the same as the one you are trying to access I am having the same problem too. This could possibly be a server-side error so I would contact HR about it. I would ask them about your sub-domains to make sure that they are working properly.

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Cox High Speed Internet. They are saying that there is a problem with the way the HR routers are programmed. Mail is not being routed properly to the DNS server in some cases.

It works some of the time, but not at other times. It seems to work starting in the afternoon and quits working in the morning. Also, mail can be received from some networks but not others.

It is kind of hard to run a business with these problems. I rely heavily on e-mail and if it is not working smoothly, I am loosing revenue.

Well, it's been 6 days now and HR still seems to think they are not wrong. I am still having problems with some of my incoming mail getting routed to the old mail server. I really wish HR would take action and fix this problem. It seems their customer support is going down the tubes.
