I am starting a new thread on any issues people have with the transition from the old to new mail server. HR is planning on transitioning everyone over starting in a few weeks. Some of us, including me, have already been transitioned as beta testers.
Most of my issues have been resolved except for DNS propigation. The new mail server host name is mailbox.hrnoc.net. Your new mail server name will be mailbox.YOURDOMAINNAME.com. It's been 2 days now and not all of my e-mail is going to the new mail server. Also, I still have to use mailbox.hrnoc.net instead of my server name as incoming and outgoing mail server in Outlook Express.
Does anybody know the maximum time it would take for mail server DNS to propigate through all channels? I am connected to a Cox.net backbone and it does not seem to have propigated through it yet. Also, it does not seem to have propigated through AOL's backbone either. I don't understand why this would be taking so long. Is this something I should contact Cox about, or just be patient and wait a few days. I'm concerned that it might be an issue with HR.
Thanks,
