The current Webmail address book is simple. It's little too simple. I can't create a group. I travel a lot of I need to use my E-mail to send to a group of people. How can I do it?

Also, is there a way to set up a mailing list?

For example:

mygroup@mydomain.com will have 10 people on it. Everyone who sends to mygruop@mydomain.com will get the E-mail. Is there a way for me to set that up on Host Rocket?

Thanks

You could use email forwarders and just have it goto 10 email addresses.

Forwarding to 10 different people would be no different than send to them directly. Imagine you want to tell a group of people something. You want to use one address for everyone. Let's say the group is 100 people, it's much easier to say:

mygroup@mydomain.com

then try to send to 100 individual E-mail address.

So how can we do this with HostRocket?

What I meant was use the forward like mygroup@mydomain.com goto person1@hotmail.com, person2@hotmail.com, whoever@hotmail.com, and so on. So when you send 1 email to mygroup@mydomain.com, it will goto all the people you listed.

Thanks for a tip. I tried to do with the control panel and it looks like the forwarder separates out the names. For example, if type:

myg@abc.com -> m1@a,m2@a,m3@a

it becomes

myg@abc.com -> m1@a
myg@abc.com -> m2@a
myg@abc.com -> m3@a

Question:

Where is the forwarding information stored? I have a lot of groups and managing it with the control panel is slow and painful. Is there another way to update the list other than control panel? Can I update it via FTP? Any ideas? Is that information in my $(HOME) directory or in the /var/...? Do I need SSH access to do that?

Thanks

I don't know where it is stored, it might be accessable by SSH somewhere.

Hey El_Nino: GREAT IDEA!!! much easier than installing Mojo Mail or something if that is all we need!

Anyone know if the Forward list is saved somewhere accessable so we could edit it by text or in a DB instead of that one text-box?

THaNks!
