I setup a email list a week ago. For about 6 hours everything seemed fine. After that its been hit and miss(mostly miss) on weather any of teh 3 admins could log into the admin page. It has taken up to 24 hours for it to forward postings. I'm waiting right now for a test posting I sent yesterday! I keep getting the lamest questions from Tech Support, asking the same questions I answered days ago.

Yahoo Egroups looks better and better. Though it would be nice to get what I'm paying for.

I had one up and running at the beginning of the year. It was very low traffic and I set it up mainly for testing purposed, but it worked.

Last week, I migrated a high volume mailing list from a freinds server on to mine. It worked great for a week, but my website was on one of the servers that was effected by the upgrade and I have to rebuild my list -- bad timing for the migration :-(

Because my website has been down all day, I haven't fixed everything yet and we are going to give it another run this week and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will work out for us.

So, short version is that, yes - generally speaking the mailing lists do work and as far as I can tell they work great. But at this particular moment in time, they aren't working (for me at least).

I'm pretty sure Tyler (I think that's how he spells his name on the board) has figured the mailing lists out =)

Somewhere there's a thread with some help typed up. I've not given it a try lately so I cannot offer any help or suggestions other than to meet up with Tyler. Sorry :)

There is a "How to Setup a Mailing List" forum elsewhere here that I try to keep my eye on, so please post there if you have a specific question. I don't know everything, but I've worked out most of the kinks and also have some workarounds.

Now that the mail server is more or less stable, I haven't had any problems. In the beginnings the delays were horrible, but we seem to fine now.
