Just curious, how much do you charge an hour?

he cannot talk about how much he charges here. It is forbidden to discuss amounts in USA. You should ask him by mail I think.

I didn't know you couldn't do that. I wouldn't disclose the amount anyways. You can e-mail me at:

We can discuss whatever you want thru e-mail. Thanks...

I recommend you to check out the sitepoint for when and how you can talk about prices.
When you talk about how much you charge in forum called "Contract or Be Contracted" it can lead to disccussion of prices and can be understood as price fixing which is not allowed legally in US.
You can check these threads for your own safety:

It is still my MO and I can be wrong because I am out of US. But best to be cautious till being sure.

I'm almost positive it only applies to businesses, not freelance web developers.

First of all law applies to anybody. As freelancer you make money, right? When you talk about prices it may come to point that you are fixing price(even though you do not mean that).
Another point is as freelancer you have to pay tax also, so even though you do not have a registered company you are still a kind of business (At least it is where I live in- The Netherlands)
Anyway as I said, I am out of US so it is not really my problem.

you don't pay taxes on the internet, therefore all stuff on the internet is under the table so to speak, and also therefore you are not bound to the same rules as corporations and businesses in the US.
For something like a web design, you can say "I charge $10 a hour" if you charge 10 a hour, it's not illegal. However, if your rate changes, you can't say it in here..you could say anywhere form $10-40, but can't give an exact rate unless you know it will stay at that rate.

Anyways, I've checked things out and i have found web developers make anywhere depending on experience of course from $30.00 - $100.00+ an hour. I work cheap. I will not charge top dollar that is for sure. I'm affordable. Just depends on what needs to be done. Anyone needs something done let me know.

But what if you charge $15/hr and then later change your mind and increase it it to $20/hr?
I'd like to see a site that explains the law regarding this... I don't see HOW it could be harmful discussing prices on a message board.
What about posting pricing on a website or privately emailing prices to someone? There are a lot of people that post their prices on websites.

I have no idea where to look for any laws. I do know I would not change my fees. that is bad business and if you did stuff like that, it would get around and nobody would want you to do their sites. I wouldn't do that because I love creating web sites. It's fun creating things. Anyways, I'm still available to create websites. So, if anyone needs me, send me an e-mail.

But I've noticed some people just starting out do that.... they will start with super low prices (no one knows them so they need to do something to get customers)... then once they get more business they will increase to what makes more sense for them.
Not just websites builders, businesses in general.
So what kind of sites do you make?

Well, i have made:
www.wimorgifts.com
www.phgllc.com
I am going to create another site in the near future for The St. Louis Vipers, they are a select youth girls softball association. Greenwood's Sports grill has expressed interest in a website. But right now i am not doing anything.
