I am trying to get newspro to work on my site. www.alamo-scouts.com
I have it all configured and evrything set up now I am having trouble inserting the HTML tag into my main page to get the news to show up.
I have renamed my index page to index.shtml. And when I try the SSI tags I get an error excuting directive.
I simply don't understand where to point the tags to my news.txt file.
Please help

hi Scout, we'd be glad to help, but for future reference and faster service (Burger King), put your code in the thread too so we can see what you mean. :)

ok here is the SSI Tags News pro says to insert in my Main Page
I am asuming that I have to direct the tag to where my news.txt is located here are my choices
<!--#include virtual="/cgi-bin/newspro/news.txt" -->
<!--#include virtual="cgi-bin/newspro/news.txt" -->
<!--#include file="cgi-bin/newspro/news.txt" -->
<!--#include file="/usr/home/example/public_html/cgi-bin/newspro/news.txt"-->
My news.txt file is located at http://www.alamo-scouts.com/cgi-bin/newspro/news.txt (news.txt is in the news pro folder)
I have tried all these SSI Tags and none seem to work. Not very encouraging when the online documentation says SSI is the hardest part of configing this confounded News dohickie. :)
I will have a Wopper with Cheese hold the Onions :D
I hope this what you need First time dealing with CGI so I Am a NOOB

choice #3 would be the best because in a virtual include you have to use the complete web address, and since its in the cgi-bin, you'll definitely have some permission problems.
If it gets too too bad, you can always rely on a good 'ol IFRAME :)

well, you could take it out of the cgi-bin. I don't see a reason for it to be in there. In laymans terms, cgi-bin's are more secure than your other folders.
