Reroute

Is there a way I can set up a filter which will reroute all emails directed to the username "foo*" (foo1,fooblah,foo1244,etc) to /dev/null? There must be a way to have the shell do this, right? I found some instructions that said you could make a .redirect file that would do this but I guess hostrockets servers aren't set up to handle this because it doesn't work.

Four months later, I still really need this ability for spam filtering. One address is accumulating spam for some reason and I need to completly disable it.
