Submitting to Search Engines

I've submitted my site through my control panel on HostRocket to the Search Engines. Do I need to do this once a month for it to be effective? Will this really help? Also, does anyone know any good companies that I can pay that will get sites up high on the search engines (reputable, but not expensive)? Thanks for your help in advance...

You're better off picking the top 4-5 search engines and submitting by hand. The "automated" process never seems to work too well.

I agree, submiting by hand to the MAJOR search engines will get you listed. I have yet to be listed in yahoo via web based submission.

The best way to get indexed is to do it by hand. And make sure you have Robot Meta tags so web indexers know what to do with your site!
