Is there a way to get images to load in order?

Hi - I'm helping to design a college website at www.adelaide.edu.au/Aquinas/ and have a big title page with a picture split up. I'm worried about people with slow internet connections. Is there a way to get the browser to load images in the order that I want them to load? Do I have any other options if this is not possible? I want the links graphic to load first, then the title graphic, then the main building graphic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

A flash based intro would allow you to have images shown in the movie at any time you'd like. Plus, it gives you more options and nyou can make it look really cool.
