Just want to make sure I'm setting up my email correctly, because I find the control panel mail options slightly confusing.

I setup 1 account besides my "main account", and forwarders for all my other aliases that go to that account I created. I plan of not using the "main account", but the one I created to check/send email.

Also, what is the "default" account? is this where I'll get all the spam... (a@photo-chaz.net, b@photo-chaz.net, etc), I mean, all addresses not defined for my domain???

Thanks

The default account is where all email goes that does not have a account set up for the address.

I use it to track where my spam comes from. For example, I use amazon@mydomain.com as the email address for purchases at amazon.com. If someone sends spam to that address I know who they bought their mailing list from. (amazon is just a prominant name for this example - they actually are quite good with their mailing lists). I use the webmail interface to empty it out periodically.

If I remember right, forwarders only send a copy to the address you specify. You will still end up with the message in your default account or an account you created for that address.

Yes, you've got the default address defination correct.

Everything else sounds fine... :)

Thanks guys. Validation on the control panel is not very extensive... I had entered account instead of account@photo-chaz.net as my default...
