site search engine

I have a site that is like a mini yahoo site..... a list of sites with keywords. I want someone to be able to enter whatever they want to search for and get a list of results.

I see the icon marked site search engine in the control panel, but it merely states to enter this section of code onto my webpage. What webpage? Does it go on the index.html page or every page in the folder that I want to search?

i think it just indexes everything in public_html and below then you just add that code to wherever you want the search form.
