Ok, I have a really weird problem. I am uploading all of my files to the public_html directory, and they appear fine on telnet and ftp, but are not viewable through the web browser. The IP is 66.78.50.79.

The file permissions are correct.

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

The Trouble Ticket responses are agonizingly slow; in the meantime, all work on my site has grinded to a complete halt while I wait for a solution. I don't like to gripe, but I am extremely frustrated at this point.

If anyone can help, I would certainly appreciate it.

Thankx!

When you signed up did the IP come as

66.78.50.79

or

66.78.50.79/~username

because that IP is pointing to ww.vincentministries.com which seems to have nothing in its public_html folder.

what's the username you input in telnet to access?
if you see your files in the public_html directory they are on the webserver and you could view them.
Permissions should be ok automatically for html files.
i see you are on host14, right?
is your domain already delegated and ready?

TTs are very slow in the last days... i know... the staff is hard-working on some new solutions and upgrades.
I hope they'll complete them ASAP to come back with the rocket-support as usual! :-)

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your help :)

I have a dedicated IP, so I just entered the IP address. The weird thing is, I have NO idea who "vincentministries.com" is.. it's almost like HR pointed the ftp/telnet correctly in the apache config file, but misdirected the default web folder.

Hi Alexs,

Yes, I am (trying to) move from host12 to host14. They still have my domain name (ChristianWriters.com) pointed at my old spot on host12. However, this shouldn't matter, since I have a new dedicated IP I have just been using that to access my files on host14.

Yes, the TT system has me at my wit's end. I made the initial request a few days ago and although there has been some dialog, the issue remains unresolved. In the meantime, my whole project is on hold, waiting for this mess to be fixed. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. :(

Probably there is some error in the config file... you have a dedicated IP but it could not be assigned well on the web server...
i saw the ChristianWriters.com refers to the 66.78.8.154 IP address... something strange, you wrote another IP...
Perhaps something wrongs at the dns too... i don't know.
I hope support will answer you ASAP, i can't do anymore...

Bye, Alex

How is host14 for stability and uptime?
Are you happy of the moving?
