Is it possible to use CronTab to run my search engine indexer weekly? (the indexer only works through telnet, you can't run it through the browser) If so how? thanks.

Point cron to your search engine indexer ;)

Would it be a system hog? I was planning on once a week, think that's too often?

Hi,

Once a week is fine : ) Im taking running it every 20 minutes. Also, try and have it run during off-peak hours.. like 2am : )

20 minutes ?!11!1 lol. It's just a cheesy little search engine for my cheesy little site I don't even update it every 20 mins let alone make enough changes to have to rerun the indexer. as it is I've olny done it four or five times since I've been with HR.

Hoiw often can i update my database using crontab.

at the moment, it is once a day as the databse is only 40K but as it gets bigger i will make it less.


Do you have a maximum size or a database?
