Here's a weird one for you -

Say my domain is foo.com, and I created it with my username as joe here at Hostrocket.

Now I login to the control panel for the first time, and it says 'don't use the primary joe account as your email, creat a new one because you'll have problems!'. Uh, ok. So I created a new account with the same name 'joe'. This made a second account with the login 'joe@foo.com' as the name instead of just 'joe' with the first one.

So my big question is, when someone sends email to 'joe@foo.com', which inbox does it go to??? The primary 'joe', or the second 'joe@foo.com'????

I had tested this earlier. It is sent to joe@foo.com and is recieved in the joe@foo.com account. The main account will not receive it. Hope that answers your question.

Hi,

It should be in joe@foo.com

Cool, I was hoping that was how it would work. Kind of a weird setup, huh?

Thanks, guys!!!

I use Eudora Pro. Following the example above, my return address and the login would be the same (name@domain.com)?

I thought the log in would just be the "name". And the incoming server would be "domain.com"?

I have my mail configured this way now (trying to hit on the right combination that lets me send and receive mail) and I can check mail, but I cannot send it.

Now domain.com is not my ISP, but Earthlink is. Shouldn't my SMTP server and/or incoming mail server be "mail.earthlink.net" instead of "mail.domain.com"?
