PHP Nuke Experiences?

Anyone around here using PHP Nuke 4 or better? Just want to get an idea of the pros and cons of it.

I dunno which version i'm using.. but i ain't had any problems with it.. just now investigating changing bits of the script around, but i never have time really...

The standard themes are a bit pants to be honest, but it seems fairly easy to change them!

I used PHP Nuke for a while (last one I used was 4.3) with Adoon 4.01 (http://www.nukeaddon.com) being the last version of the addon I used. I still mirror the Nuke Addon downloads from the main site on mine, so I always have the latest releases and a few old version :) see them here: http://www.spiderbite.org/addon/

the reason I stopped using it was because while it was great for what it did but I felt it was limiting my options to what PHPNuke and ADDon made for it, and I wanted to go in a different direction.

... so in your opinion... would v4 be safer than v5?.. I hit a site running v5 and ran into a bunch of scripting errors... but I don't know if that's the norm, or if the dude had custom scripted some stuff.

Well I strongly suggest that you use a version over 4.1 because nuke has a security exploit in previous versions. I'm using version 5 release candidate 1 and one thing that I have noticed is that it is a lot faster than versions prior.

I'm confused, because alot of people told me that the best choice would be the newer version on myphpnuke... but now everyone is say phpnuke is good.

Can you please brief me what is the phpnuke, because I visited there site but I did not understand it very will because my English is not good. Is it some how like forum, or news maker, or something else please brief me.

Wait until the official final version of PHPNuke 5.0 to come out. Also you might want to check out upcoming MyphpNuke 2.0 which will be out later.

PHPNuke is a web site generator or a web site maker. It gives you features like forum, newsmaker, download area, reviews section, guest book, and photo gallery................. All built in. You can visit a non-English speaking PHPNuke support site. What country are you from? I can give you a links to a support site that speaks your language. If you are from europe.

I have been using Nuke 4.4. Its pretty bug free. With many add ons (mig) for Photo Gallery and NewsLetter for group news letters. BTW you can create your own language files it pretty easy. Take the english file, and for each Line of text that is displayed, create a local translation of the sentence to your language of choice. You can always see what version of nuke the site is using at the bottom of the stats page. I am considering using Host Rocket to host my local sports site with nuke. http://reds.longhofer.com and a personal site at www.longhofer.com There are also many other addon's but they will probably be ported to nuke 5 when its stable. (which I dont believe it is yet, acording to the newsgroup which I subscribe.)
