I read the thread about .htaccess and how to create a file.
well first off.. You canno create one in not pad because its saved as a text like ".htaccess.txt". You cannot rename it to .htacces in windoze.. you must do it through DOS.
Well now this has been done. When uploading to my FTP, it says it uploaded yet its not wiewable in my FTP program. It simply is not shown. So i tried through dos and sure enough, it shows its there.
Well then i tried, as suggested by HR's .htaccess thread to use the File Manager in the control panel but its the same deal. the file is not shown.
How can i view this file via GUI FTP and edit it as well when its says it does not exist?

Any info would be great as this is really beginning to annoy me having to go through dos for everything.

create it as htaccess.txt and rename it once you have uploaded it to the server.
