If a server is down, or if we have an emergency we have to call (518) 316-3263 right??
Does this mean i need to buy a phone card, whenever i need help???
Wouldn't it be easier to have an 800 number??

If your site is important enough to warrant placing a phone call when a server might be down, you can fork over the long distance charges. It isn't a "help" number, it's an "emergency" number. 800 numbers can be extremely expensive, and if the emergency number were toll-free, you might have all kinds of people calling when they shouldn't be, and HR would have to pay the charges for every call, regardless of whether or not the calls truly were emergencies. That could only lead to HR jacking up the prices of their services, to help pay for the 800 number, and I don't know about you, but I like the prices just like they are.

Pretty much the way things are now, if a server is down we know about it, we have every server checked every 30 seconds on all processes, and someone watching the monitoring 24/7. The best thing to do is come check the forum and then if nothing has been posted here check back in another 2 minutes. We try and post here as soon as theres a problem to let you know its being worked on and an ETA on it being fixed.

Sprint Calling Cards at 4.2 cents a minute. That's
about $2.50 an hour to talk.
