this has been a nightmare. I really doubt they know what they are doing. They had me buy 3 different routers since problem started. and now tech tells me he has not Seen VOIP work with DSL, mind you I have dedicated static IP DSL.
see the following ticket it has been a joke.

I have to disagree with you about VT's customer service... I also recently (the past two months) started to experience issues with my service. When the problems started happening (one way calls, calls going straight to my cell phone, etc...) I looked here and at DSL reports to see if others had similar issues. And sure enough it has been fairly common and I read about the new Grandstream adapter that they're using now. I made one phone call and explained my situation. They had me check a couple of settings in my router and then agreed to send me the Grandstream to see if it would help. Two days later I had the new adapter and it's been working great ever since. Granted I would have preferred that whatever central changes were made wouldn't have affected my service, but the customer service rep was very friendly and willing to work with me to get it resolved.

When I read through your ticket, it seems perfectly reasonable for them to ask you to run the tests that they did. There's no way that they can do those types of diagnostics for you since it's your router and DSL connection... I hope that the Grandstream adapter fixes your problem and that you won't be so bitter towards VT. The service is not perfect, but they offer a lot of value for the price. And any time (which I think has been 3 times total) I've called about an issue, they were always courteous and got the issue resolved. By the way, you may want to remove the link to your ticket since it contains both your home phone and cell numbers. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in....
