IP number=.htacess is this normal?

I have just signed up with a hostrocket account :) and I have an ip number because I am currently transferring over some databases and files from another server. When I type in my ip number I am prompted for my username and password via an .htacess file and the realm is phpmyadmin. I was just wondering does this file go away once the domain has resolved on Hostrockets server?
