I use Viatalk with X-lite 3.0. When the virtual phone is closed, calls are sent to voicemail properly. However, when the phone is open and I do not pick up the call, the caller is not sent to voicemail. If I leave my phone open while I am gone, no calls are answered by voicemail.

I have configured X-lite to sent the call to voicemail after 10 seconds (in account settings), however, I have not specified a number for sending calls to voicemail. Could this be my problem? If so, what number do I put in this box?

I got a response from Viatalk in about an hour from the time that I submitted a support ticket! (Previously it has taken weeks.) Here is the essence of the reply --

Seems that there are two places to configure how long an incoming call will ring before it goes to voicemail: (1) the Viatalk website, and (2) the Xten account properties. I had the Viatalk rings set for much longer than the virtual phone. When I re-set the Viatalk site ("Set Ring Seconds") for less than the X-Lite settings ("SIP account Settings") all calls would go to voicemail whenever I chose not to answer.

It was unnecessary to fill in a contact number for the voicemail on the Xten software.
