i recently signed up with hostrocket..and am having problems running cgi scripts..AFAIK the permissions are set up correctly..but whenever i try to execute the script i get this on the web browser

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@turkishcontacts.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

--------------
ive looked in the error logs, and they list
Premature end of script headers: /home/ipatech/public_html/cgi-bin/hello.cgi
[error] (2)No such file or directory: exec of /home/ipatech/public_html/cgi-bin/hello.cgi failed

i am currently accessing the site using the IP addresss, as the DNS servers havent been updated yet. Would this make a difference ??

thanks in advance..

Ian

I've gotten the exact same response as you. I haven't been able to run a single cgi script since the move. All permissions and paths are correct, with the same Internal Server and 'premature' notice. I opened a trouble ticket on it, so someone should be looking into it.

Accessing the site via the IP address or the name server doesn't make any difference.

had no problem running them blew the dust of my ubb and played with that for a while b4 i decided how crap and dated it looks was a good buy at the time. had newspro and other scripts running no problem
ps if ya wanna check yer script telnet in and run it, you will get slightly more info but at least you will know for definate if it runs

pestilence: where did you get the Newspro script? I can't find it anywhere... it seems that the author's site is down.

CGI is going well here as well. I'm only accessing my site via IP, so I know it's possible. I've got ikonboard (http://www.ikonboard.com) installed and working as well as megabook (guestbook) and instead of newspro, which i was using prior, i'm using a program called greymatter (http://www.noahgrey.com/greysoft). It works very well, and is extremely customizable. It's at 1.1 right now, and 1.2 is due out shortly - check it out.

Since telnet seems to be the way to go, I'm going to do that now. Will post what I hear.
