Innomedia Configuration for ViaTalk

From: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r18692448-VERIFIED-guide-use-Innomedia-Gizmo-on-ViaTalk-

This is assuming your box is already unlocked.

1. Disconnect your WAN port from the gizmo

2. Open your browser. Type in your url address line 192.168.251.1/Voice_adminPage.htm - (the IP Address will verify if you changed the default settings in the gizmo. If so, use that IP address, but DO NOT FORGET the /Voice_adminPage.htm at the end)

3. Login using your admin password. If you do not know the password, try one available at »gizmopasswords.blogspot.com

If you do a factory default reset http://gizmopasswords.blogspot.com/2007/07/innomedia-gizmo-bricked-try-this.html with the internet (WAN) unplugged, then un-check provisioning and reboot the device, you can then use user=admin and then pw=slapshot to access the admin panel, at least on the 6328, may work on other Innomedia devices?

4. Turn off provisioning if you have not done this already. To do this, go to NETWORK -> Provisioning setting. Uncheck the "Enable Provisioning" box and hit the "Save and Reboot" button. After rebooting, you may not be able to login to the admin account since the reboot will default to index.htm. Hit CANCEL, and go to »192.168.251.1/Voice_adminPage.htm to login.

5. Go to VOIP -> SIP Proxy and enter these settings:
1. SIP Proxy - Enter exactly what is in your soft phone page from ViaTalk (one of the Server Names) Remove any whitespaces at the end.
2. Check "Use Outbound Proxy" box
3. SIP Local Signaling Port: 5060
4. SIP Domain:
5. Registration Expiration time: 60
6. Preferred Codecs List: PCMU/8000
7. Choose "NONE" for all others.
8. Click "Save" button.

6. Go to VOIP -> User Account.
1. Choose Line 1 from dropdown
2. User ID: Your 11-digit phone number from email (starting with country code 1)
3. Password: From soft phone page on Via Talk site.
4. User Name: Same as User ID above
5. Authentication ID:
6. Use Hot Phone Number: NO
7. Hot Phone Number:
8. Use T38 FAX: Yes
9. Click "Save" button

Reboot your cable/dsl modem, then reboot your gizmo, and power-cycle your phone (if it is a powered phone). ENJOY!!

Check under the "information" to see if line 1 is registered

* Note that when the port of your SR number to ViaTalk is complete, you'll need to use your old SR phone number in place of your temp ViaTalk number in these configs.

After SR died, I too moved to Net2Phone . After Net2Phone contract got over, I am trying to switchover to ViaTalk. I already signed up with them with BYOD option. I tried to go to the http://192.168.99.1/Voice_adminPage.htm to configure the Gizmo but keep getting HTML Error : 404 Page not found. I am able to "admin" login to the MTA 6328 re XT using just the http://192.168.99.1 but unable to provision the VOIP.

After spending 5-6hrs in the night, I figured out that the reason I am not able to get to the http://192.168.99.1/Voicee_adminPage.html was that when I switched from SR to Net2Phone, I had to upload the Net2Phone firmware. I digged around for the SR firmware and then I saw this link http://archive.slickdeals.net/sho...p?t=598071 . I downloaded the OEM firmware and uploaded to the Gizmo. After the Gizmo rebooted I couldn't login at all. I tried resets, power down etc.

After more search on the SR firmware, I finally found it via Yahoo search (Google never showed it) at http://www.teleblend.com/INNOMEDI....img_V3077 .I think this is the right firmware I should have uploaded, but I am unable to login to the Gizmo either as user/welcome, admin/slapshot or admin/7UprUtew . If I can get the firmware uploaded, I am sure I can provision ViaTalk.

I haven't given up hope. Anybody kind enough to help me out.

Thanks

I too have same issue, I am not able configure my innomedia which was purchased from Sunrocket. The instrument was working fine for Net2phone without any configuration changes. But now, when I wanted use it for Viatalk, it is giving hard time for me. I was able to unlock by going to 192.168.99.1, username as admin, and password as admin. I selected restore factory defaults, however, I am not able to voip connected. I am not sure how to register this product with viatalk. There is no option on INNOMEDIA MTA XT 6328 2Re menu for regestering the device with Viatalk. Viatalk support team is useless, they are not supporting this issue and they are asking me to go to vtviki.org. But this site also not useful for this device.

I am NOT user what firmware to be loaded, and trying to find sunrocket or net2phone firmwares but no use. What I found was there is a difference between INNOMEDIA MTA XT 6328 2Re and INNOMEDIA MTA 6328 2Re, ane everyone was trying to give information for INNOMEDIA MTA 6328 2Re but not XT.

I am still traying..one good thing is I am able to login to the device.. but I am not sure what should be the next steps.
fyi. Your firmware links are not working...

I just switched from Net2Phone to ViaTalk, and was a former Sunrocket customer. Here is what I did on my Innomedia MTA6328 2Re adapter to make it work for ViaTalk (it had the Net2Phone firmware):

1). Logged-in to the adapter and updated the firmware with the Sunrocket 3.0.75 firmware.

2). Just like you, I then could not login to the adapter using either 192.168.251.1 or 192.168.99.1. However, when I connected the WAN port of the adapter to my router, I was able to login using user/password: admin/slapshot to http://192.168.251.1/Voice_adminPage.htm.

So basically, the adapter should be connected to the PC via the LAN port, and it should be connected to a router/modem via the WAN port (at the same time) to be able to login successfully (I think.... you may have to try it to see if it works for you).

3). I then updated the firmware with the Sunrocket 3.0.77 firmware. There a 3.0.79 firmware out there, but it is not recommended by many for unknown reasons.

4). Configured the adapter to work with ViaTalk. There are instructions out there on the web that show you how to do it.

Hope this works out for you too.

A basic question: What difference do the various CODECs make: The Innomedia 6328 2RE offers various CODECs, with PCMU/8000 as the one which SunRocket used. Do any of the others (G723.1, G726, G711a, G711u, etc.) make for better or worse quality? Is one better for fax than others? Thanks.
