View Full Version : How can you tell port has completed?

With the slow communications coming from ViaTalk today, how does one know when a number has been ported or a virtual number has been added?

I'm approaching 45 days since I signed up and requested my two SunRocket numbers to be ported to VT. I've read that the VT assigned number remains active for a month following the port so I'm presuming that will continue to work for logging into the account. Are there any indicators in the CP once new numbers have been added? Unfortunately the VT demo does not show virtual numbers, so I'm presuming I'll just see new numbers listed. Should I be looking elsewhere?

I'd contact support, but I've got two tickets in from a month ago that have yet to get a response... :(

In the control panel under the soft phone configuration button select generic or any other from the drop down list and click the button. If your number ported you will see the VT temporary number somewhere in the mess AND the number or numbers you have ported. You will receive an email when the port occurs. So if no indication in your soft phone configuration AND no email, then you have not ported yet.

Also, in your custom caller ID, and contacts lists there will be a choice once the porting takes place as to which number the rules apply- I show my temporary VT number and my ported number. If you don't have a choice in these places you probably have not ported yet.

I have no idea about virtual number stuff as I don't care to have or use one.
