I have read some of these threads and sympathize, i've had viatalk service for a month and half but have still not have not had my number ported to viatalk. i recieved the equipment on time, they bill me on time, but they do not respond to helpdesk tickets, or they do not answer their support line.

After calling customer support as a current customer (i tired a number of different menus) and always being number 68, 57, or 71 etc, I then tried the support line as a new customer, i was number 5 in line, when i got to number one the call was dropped.

I have submitted one ticket, i have tried the cancel account link others have posted in the forum, and TRIED cancelling via the telephone... the whole point of me cancelling is that all three of these methods didn't get me through to customer service to help or update me on porting my number so i could begin using this service!

and how come none of the post icins are sad/angry faces!?

We canceled last Friday and signed up with Vonage that night. We got a monthly rate plus free set-up and adapter. I called Vonage's support number the same eve to ask a question about the number transfer, and waited 15 minutes during peak hours. REALLY NICE.
And today we received the adapter, they shipped it next day at NO CHARGE TO US AT ALL. We're up and running tonight, what a difference.
I hope you have as much luck now that you've dumped VT.
Our only issue now is to retrieve our $15 from VT. They were such a bad experience, I bet the money won't come back easily.

Ship the adapter back as per their website instructions, certified or same way to have proof of date of delivery, with a cancellation request. Also make note of the original date you requested to cancel, and initiate a charge back with your CC company. It appears to be the only way anyone is having any success canceling through other forums I keep up with. Some are also still being charged after VT supposedly processes the cancellation.
