I have signed up for VT on 7/19/07. And as of today (8/13/07@10pm), the only things that have happened is they billed my CC (7/31/07). Still no equipment being shipped..
I understand that VT received alot of new customers.
I also understand thier customer service is getting tons of calls.
But almost a month now...Come on....

I signed up on 7/23/07 got billed on 8/2/07. The website still indicates that the equipment has not shipped. I hope we don't have to call in to get a credit since we haven't had service. Has anyone else tried to get them to credit their account since no service has been provided?

I too signed up on 7-19 via the web. So far no equipment. I have called twice abd both times the customer service rep told me that my equipment would be shipping out any minute. That is a load of crap. They are giving us all the run around because they have been unable to handle the influx of Sun Rocket refugees. I will be looking elsewhere if I cannot get an honest answer from someone soon. I also plan to request credit for every day I do not have service. They charged my cc on August first

Same happened to us, they sent nothing and after three weeks we just canceled. We got up and running with a new provider in three days, free equipment, setup and shipping. Yet, VT continues to charge our credit card because they apparently are just as aware of cancelations as they are of the scads of angry customers trying to get help. We're having to chargeback to them.
I wouldn't wait a month, and sorry we waited three weeks. I wish we'd gotten away from them after the first week with no service, the new provider is a dream in comparison!
Bad service continues because of tolerance. I won't have either with VT anymore. :-)

Yes, I called them, stayed on hold for hours and talked to one of thier Reps, don't have the name handy, and he told me your cycle starts when you sign up.
So if you signed up 7/17 and got your equipment 8/17, you will only get 11 months of service for your years payment.
I told him that was not the right thing to do and he said he reset my start date to give me 2 more weeks, but when I check my account it doesn't reflect that.
I also have emailed them twice with documentation asking for my 3 months and equipment charge to be refunded to my CC per the "buyout" offer. That hasn't happened either.
BTW it took 3 weeks for me to get my equipment and my phone still hasn't been ported.

How will you get a refund. They are completly overwhelmed. I must say they are courteous on the phone, but there are never any positive results from the hours on hold listening to that torture they think is music.
They are so inept in so many ways, playing annoying fanfare music to already annoyed customers. LOL.
I would love to cancel, but I am afraid I would just be amking it harder to get my original phone number back, the one that hundreds of people have.
Soon the ViaTAlk groupies will posts here saying we are not patient and should be happy with dismal service, I am sure you know the ones.
