I signed up on 07/18/07 and was billed and paid on 07/30/07 and acquired a number on 07/30/07. I haven't heard anything from ViaTalk since. I am currently without home phone service. I will cancel my account and go with another carrier if I don't get a response soon.

I'm in the same boat...
Ordered Service on 7/19 = $238.90
Blank Email from Bob on 7/31 = .10 Cents
Waiting for the Equipment to be Shipped = Priceless

Ford1a,
I will just tell you I signed up on July 16th, didn't get any response, so that weekend I called VT paid the Priority Service of 9.95, had number on next Monday and got new epuipment the next Monday. I was told when I called in that the priority customer who pay the 9.95 get put on the top of the list and I believed them. It seems that to get anything done with VT you must pay a little extra to get them to listen. I waited over 2 hours on the phone one Sat. just to get that done. By the way the service works great but when it comes to Support and Billing I have never got a quick response to any of my questions. If you have gotten a Welcome letter from VT you should beable to log in to your account and setup your old hardware if you have any and have your phone up and running. That is what I did until my new equipment got here... by the way I like the Gizmo that SR used better than the Linksys that VT sends out. VT must be behind a router and not out front. Good Luck!

Unfortunately that no longer seems to be true. I paid for priority service. I paid for overnight shipping. I paid $258.90 for ViaTalk service.
Still I sit here with nothing. Maybe when you ordered they were still honoring priority service. In the meantime I've seen a couple people who ordered after me posting that they have service on the forums. Seems to me they are processing randomly from a pile.
Ordered: 07/20/2007 (priority process, overnight ship)
Billed: 08/01/2007 ($258.90)
Number Acquired: 08/01/2007
Shipped: ha don't make me laugh
I've used the forgotten password link to get into the control panel. Its broken. No passwords listed so I can't try to hack my old gizmo or setup a softphone even if I wanted to. Sit on hold for hours on end? Sorry, my time is worth more than that.
From following the boards I've seen people getting priority shipping who didn't pay for it and orders not being processed completely in the order they were received. It seems to me that the extra money I spent was wasted.
I really want the ViaTalk service. I want to be able to use my own device once I have time to tinker with it. I actually paid for the adapter so I could have something "reliable" to use while I tinkered with my own stuff. Silly me.

More powerful Intel systems appear to be hurting Sun Microsystems. Sun's fiscal-year 2002 revenue fell 32%. CIOs recently surveyed by Merrill Lynch reported that over the next three to five years, they plan to increase spending on servers by just 10%. The news isn't good for PCs, either. They are CIOs' lowest priority once a turnaround occurs. IBM says PC sales in the second quarter dropped 10% compared with last year.

What kind of a equipment is that? Well, if you already paid for it they should shipped it to you or refund the money if they can't.
