Hey All,
I am a sunrocket refugee currently with VT service coming into my unlocked Innomedia MTA-6328. I can make and receive calls and the quality is pretty good but it is not as configurable as I would like it and a few things that I think are inherent of this model. (have to wait a few seconds before saying "Hello" or the caller will not hear me, the dialplan uses a non-standard syntax ie. cannot use the S0,! or angle bracket commands)
I just wanted some feedback on these adapters, mainly for call quality and depth of configurability, before I purchase one. Maybe a best to worst if you have the knowledge.
PAP2T-NA
SPA-2100
SPA-2102
RT31P2
Grandstream GS-286
D-Link DVG-2001S
A great thank you in advance,
Clay

It really depends on what you want. The devices you listed are all different. So, do you want an ATA with built in router? Do you want a to be able to connect a POTS line or 2? How many? How may VoIP lines? Etc. Each of these adapters you listed do some of these thing others don't. So what do you want?

Mainly my top priorities for choosing an ATA would be in the following order.
1. Overall Voice Quality (QoS capable a plus)
2. Configurable dialplan
3. 2 voip ports would be nice but not needed
4. Built in router not neded since the ata will be behind a QoS capable router anyways but if it comes with a good one then so be it.
It is not in my list because it has been retired but I have recently been told that a lot of people like the SPA 1001. I could always find one on ebay
Thanks,
Clay

I've never used the Grandstream or the D-link. But I can tell you the Linksys products are very good. I would suggest the PAP2T for your needs. I think anything else would be overkill. The PAP2 offers 2-VoIP lines, configurable Dial Plan, and since it will be behind a router that has QoS you don't need the ATA to offer QoS or a router.
It sounds like it fits your bill nicely, and it's probably the cheapest (free if you get it from VT) on your list. And you won't be wasting money on features you don't need/want.

Appreciate the input.
I have found that a PAP2 will be the easiest to source.
I will just find the cheapest NIB PAP2, vonage or not, and just unlock it.
I do not want VT's PAP2 beacause I don't want to have to worry about keeping the original box and shipping it back if I ever change providers.
