How do we configure the 2nd pseudo line?
Do we use the same information as line 1 but a different port?

If you signed up for the 2-line deal. Then you will need to contact VT to give it to you. If you did not sign up during the 2-line promotion or if you are BYOD then you cannot get the 2nd password. This is something VT has talked about offering in the future at a cost to current/BYOD customers.

This is basically a 2nd Call Appearance.
I just setup my WRTP54G with BYOD service. I copied the same SIP account information for Line 1 to the Line 2 setup page but used a different SIP Port number.
I can make 2 outbound calls at the same time and they show up as the same calling number.
When I keep a call going and then call inbound I get one call waiting beep on the ongoing call, and then it goes to voicemail. I was hoping my 2nd telephone would ring as described according to ViaTalk instead of going to voicemail.
Has anyone been successful in getting the 2nd call appearance to work fully?
I also noticed that the 2nd line telephone rings first on an inbound call. It somehow is registering as the primary. Changing the SIP port number doesn't make a difference. Anyone know why?
Thanks in advance

tito,
the deal is without the 2 account passwords you get pseudo functionality. I sure hope they off this officially to byod customers soon.

VT sets up the second line feature with a different password that we dont get.
The way you have it setup, whichever line registered last will get the inbound call. What you could do is change the registration interval on line 2 to a large number so it wont "steal" the registraion from line one that often. That shouldn't have any affect on your outgoing calls.

Soon after they started this feature, I tried it as BYOE, and it worked exactly as you describe above. Appears that the receive side will not work properly until VT sets it properly on their end on a number by number basis. I decided to disable Line 2 until we hear further on BYOE participation. Somewhere I read that when they give you the Line 2 Password they also instruct you to enter the Line number and I believe add a "t" at the end of the number. With all the server issues and other things VTs is working for past couple months, they may have just shelved it for the time being.
