I am a former SunRocket employee who moved to via:talk yesterday. Can I use my Linksys SPA 2101-R ATA with via:talk? I don't believe the device is locked as I can log into it.

If you can access the Administrative part of the ATA then it should be able to work. Here is a list of compatible Linksys ATAs that works with VT. http://tinyurl.com/3azfko

Here are the unlock instructions for a Linksys gizmo:

On the Linksys, web admin access is disabled. To enable it, pick up phone, dial **** then 723646# , when asked for password, dial 78778839# , when asked for value dial 1# then dial 1 to save.
Then, go to http://192.168.0.1/admin/voice/advanced , enter user and password.

This may sound stupid, but what do I do after it is unlocked? How does the gizmo know to connect to VT instead of sunrocket? Does it have something to do with changing the SIP? Where do I find the settings?

I have SIP setup instructions for the SunRocket AC-211-SR. I'm assuming your device is similar.

Do you know what the Linksys SPA 2101 default password is? Many people, including myself mistakenly did a factory reset on our Linksys, and now the instructions that are posted everywhere don't work. When we try to access the '192.168.0.1/admin/voice/advanced' page - it gives a '403 Forbidden' error.

Mr. Moto is so sorry for taking so long to reply. I had the same experience as heavylee, but after a couple of factory resets, and waiting for about 6 hours my Gizmo started working again.

Vrodguy the IP for the ATA is 192.168.0.1. No password is needed for the initial page, or when you click on the advance link. I just got an IM from a former Tier 2 person who said that the user name is: admin and password is: 7UprUtew. I don't know if these will work when trying to access the '192.168.0.1/admin/voice/advanced' page

Just confirming that the SR Gizmo (Linksys) can be fully unlocked following the directions I've seen posted here. I'll summarize them again here. These did work for me.
Here’s what I got off the SR user forum (it worked with my Linksys).

There were 2 or 3 different companies which made Gizmos according to the SR user forum. Username and password are apparently the same for all. If your web interface to the Gizmo is functioning, you should be able to log in with the info I sent. If your web interface is disabled (as was mine) you will need to research how to enable it, then you need to log in.

Added notes: Make sure you use your Gizmo IP #.

If gizmo behind router, you also need to enable access from WAN side with option 7932# . Of course, substitute gizmo WAN address in above URL. To hear it, use option 110# .


Assistance request: I haven't yet found configuration instructions as to how to change the settings from Sunrocket to Viatalk. If anyone could post these that would be appreciated. A concise listing in a single location would be perfect. TIA.

When SR sold out (or whatever) to Teleblend they (take your pick SR or TB) sent down a cfg to the Linksys spa2102-r's that effectively changed both the IVR password as well as the admin credentials to get into advanced side of the gizmo. There is an effort underway to take control of these devices back but it is going to be difficult. You can find info by googling unlock spa2102...

Is it that difficult to get a the question to this thread answered. GEEZ. Please let us all know how to use our Unlocked SP2102 with ViaTalk. We have them unlocked now. No more help is needed there. Just tell us how to now use the device with the service we are paying for but cannot use yet.
