I've been wanting to buy a game platform for a while but always thought I'd pick up a used PS2. Now that the Wii is out, I'm wondering if I'd be happy with it. I've always like playing Madden Football and I don't think the Wii has any games like that right? I do know that I don't want to play bowling or tennis. Is that basically all the Wii is good for? Help!

The Wii is great! So far I've mostly only played the kids games but the controls are easy to use and the games are really interactive. The boxing game for instance actually gives you a good workout!

I love the Wii. I have a PS3 too, but I usually end up playing the Wii because the games are more fun, and, well, there are more games for the Wii than the PS3.

I personally like Zelda and even Super Paper Mario is fun even though it is a basic 2/3D game with cartoonish graphics. Tiger Woods 07 is also amazing with the swinging of the club. My only wish is that they made the remote rechargable although I use rechargable batteries anyways it would be easier with a lithium-ion battery.

But there is no Madden Football for the Wii and that's one game I really enjoy. How would you rate the Wii graphics with the PS2? I'm intrigued by the Wii controller, but I'm just left with the impression (possibly wrongly) that the Wii games are more on the goofy side.

Graphics are still along the same line as the PS2 and Gamecube. There were minor upgrades to the graphics and they changed to a dual-layer DVD drive for the games.

Nintendo has always been about fun games. There are plenty of games for kids and you won't find many run and gun shooters. Not all the games are goofy though. A friend of mine has Sonic for the Wii and it is 1,000x better than the laggy (yes I said laggy) PS3 version and even the XBox 360 version.

Honestly if you can even find a Wii lately I would say you are lucky because I see PS3's everywhere collecting dust, but I fail to see many Wii's when I am out. That should say something.

I'm not sure where you read that there was no Madden game for the Wii but there defintiely is and it's been out for a while. I haven't played it personally cause I'm not into sports titles but I've heard good things from friends. Also Wii games are definitely somewhat on the "goofier" side but that's just how Nintendo is. They still have some more mature themed games. I know they're old and sort of bad examples but Prince of Persia Rival Swords was rereleased on Wii and Resident Evil 4 is also being given the Wii treatment. Not crazy mature, but still more adult oriented games.

Also, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to be awesome.
