I just signed up yesterday. The status page shows that my number has been retrieved. How do I get that number? (Need it for printing bizcards.)

Thanks!

It will come. You should be receiving an e-mail soon giving you your phone number, credential information for logging into your account, etc. :)

Before ordering your biz cards, you may want to try out ViaTalk (and VoIP in general) to make sure it works in your situation.

Great news. Don't know if you are a provisioned user or not, but if you are waiting for VT to send you a Linksys PAP2(T), you can start using your service in the meantime with a softphone. There are many softphones out there. I have used X-Lite 3.0, SJPhone, and Express Talk. They all work great with VT service. I now only use Express Talk (as the free version can handle 4 lines and the purchased version can handle 6 lines).

sbradshaw I loaded Express Talk to try it out on VT. I appear to have the old inband DTMF promlem, or lack of it and have not found where to change to inband. Comment??

I have seen references to it supporting rfc2833. I do not see anything that specifies inband, though. I personally don't have a need for DTMF on Express Talk when it comes to VT as I usually check vmail remotely through the toll-free number when not at home.

If this app is not working for you based on your needs, then I would suggest X-Lite 3.0 or SJPhone as they support inband. See VT's site for instructions on how to configure X-Lite 3.0 for inband support (only configurable within an advanced settings view).

X-Lite 3.0 and SJPhone are good softphones as I have used them both in the past.

Thanks for reply, I use XLite from remote locations and need DTMF to access my work voice mail which uses inband signaling as well. I just took a look at Express Talk for comparison. XLite is working very well for me.
