Well, yet another example of the weather-like performance of VoIP for me.
After a solid week or so of exceptional service, suddenly I started finding all outbound calls taking forever to connect. I also had two calls that just seemed to vanish into the ether. I'd dial and wait and nothing would happen. This symptom just popped up out of nowhere. My adapter was set to provisioning off while I tested some settings so clearly nothing on it changed. However, I also turned it back on and it still had no impact on this.
It's items like these that baffle the user. I'd blame it on Comcast but that would suggest that my connection has been bad for the entire weekend while nothing else I'm doing online is showing any hint of trouble.
I just now tried calling the support number as a test. 18 seconds for the call to go through. I'm on the same server (NY-2) that I've been on the entire time.
I reset the adapter and tried again. Instant connect. So, it's not the ISP.
What gives? Why should this state happen and why would resetting the adapter fix it?
