Softphone can not make calls.

I joined ViaTalk a few days ago (Vonage jumper).

I am trying to use a softphone with the service, and found the configuration information to set it up ( found it here ) (https://support.viatalk.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=145).

I have configured x-lite to connect to newyork-1.vtnoc.net.

- The softphone will successfully register.
- The voicemail light comes on (I know there is one message).

However, I can't make or receive any calls.

I have opened the following UDP ports on my firewall:

69
5060-5081
10000-20000

Anyone have any other tips to test, or find out what is causing the issues?

I don't know if it's your problem, and I know it sounds obvious/stupid, but triple-check that you have properly entered your VoIP account "UserID" and "Password".

Those entries are case sensitive, and will cause your connection to fail if you have made even a single character typo. So it's all too easy too make a mistake when you are entering those two fields. And so it never hurts to "check the obvious" before moving onto other possible causes...

Where is the voicemail light on your x-lite? Mine doesn't seem to have one.

Also check your windows firewall as well as your router. If you are running windows that is. You may need to disable it or open the ports there as well.

Double check all the settings too.

A little yellow mail envelope shows on the display when I have a voicemail waiting.
