I see a lot of related posts on this topic, but I'm looking for a good overall summary of all the options available and how to set things up. I see things about the voicemail indicators on phones, things about different rings.
What are my options, what equipment do I need for them, do I need to get something turned on to use them, etc?

Anyone with some help on this? Before I go out and buy any new phones, I want to really understand what the options are for VoiceMail notification. The email is working great, but I want to know what the simplest answer is for when I walk in the door at home--it used to be looking for the red light on my phone w/ digital answering machine.

FSK is the feature on your phone that allows the voice mail indicator light to light up when you get a new VT voice mail. I've heard most Uniden phones have the feature, but I don't have experience with it. I've also heard that you may have to open a trouble ticket with VT to make sure your PAP2 is setup turn on the indicator on your phone.
There should be other threads in these forums covering this topic. Search for "indicator" or similar if you aren't getting help in this thread.

I have a Panasonic 5.8Ghz phone that has a VMIL. I had to open a ticket with VT to turn on the ability to light up the indicator light....

I too have a Panasonic 5.8ghz phone that has Visual Voice Mail Indicator.
You do have to open a ticket with VT to have this feature turned on. I had to re-open a ticket with them to turn off the ring back feature. This has the phone ring once every so often along with the light flashing on the phone when you have VM . Now all is good. When I have VM only with light flashes on my phone.

Alternatively, you can modify the settings yourself if you have the "admin password" to your adapter (as these settings are all fully within your adapter).

But if your adapter is provisioned by VT the setting will be overwritten frequently. Opening up a ticket is the best option unless you set your adapter for provisioning off.
