What is the difference between the SSL you get at Hostrocket and Verisign? I need the verisign logo on my site and was wondering if its easy to install ssl or its a item I would need hostrocket to add?

Hello

Anyone can get a certificate from any one of the SSL issuing companies. HostRocket offers Thawte certificates, which the customer can get a Thawte seal with their order if needed. Verisign is just a company that offers SSL certificates, just like Thawte or GeoTrust, there is little to no difference in the end product you receive from any of them.

Problem is everyone (bosses) want the Verisign logo

Interestingly enough, Thawte is (and has been for quite some time) owned by Verisign. Due to the more trusted "Verisign" name, you may pay a premium for a Verisign certificate. This is similar to paying for brand name bread that is manufactured in the same warehouse as the generic super-market brand.

As far as purchasing an SSL certificate, you may choose any company you wish. If your employers want Verisign, then it does not hurt to do so.
