How Do I Upload Images?

I'm new at web page publishing. I understand that I have to put my html files in the public_html directory, but where do I upload my jpeg files? It won't let me put them in the public_html directory? Any advice as to how to go about publishing all this stuff?

You can put anything in the public_html directory. The name "public_html" doesn't mean you can only put html files in it.
