View Full Version : Inbound calls don't connect for a few seconds - caller still hears ringing

OK I just got my port completed over to VT and everything's working ok except for one strange issue - when I pick up the phone for an inbound call, the other end does not connect right away. The caller still hears the phone ring even after I've picked up. After a delay of up to 5 seconds, the call connects and the conversation is fine afterwards. It's kind of aggravating because you say 'hello' and no one's there right away. It's also random - sometimes a call connects right away, others have the delay. Outbound calls have no issues.

I'm using my own PAP2 configured for the chicago-1 server with nothing special in the config other than the standard proxy and the inband DTMF fix. No NAT mapping, no STUN server set.

UPDATE: switched to the richmond-1 server and made over a half-dozen calls to my ATA and all connected right away. Hmmm... will have to see if this takes for good.

GTFan,

I see you are using your own adapter. So am I. I have a unlocked RT32P2 which I'm having problem to get the dial tone function. Do you think you can share the settings your adapter so I can compare it over mine?

Here is more detail on the probelm of mine.
