I didn't have many issues with faxing when I first got VT a few months ago. I send around 10-15 faxes per day. I noticed a few small issues recently, but nothing that big. I deployed a TrixBOX and such, still didn't see many issues. But recently i have not been able to send/receive without errors.

I went ahead and did some digging and learned that this is a common issue that not only I am experiencing. I upgraded the firmware on my PAP2 and changed the input and output gain to -9. I also enabled FAX Disable ECAN and set jitter level to high. I have successfully sent 2 pages and received 2 pages after the changes.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm using a Canon D280 Imageclass fax machine. I looked thru it's setting but im not able to find the settings for quality or baud rate (from what I hear those don't make much difference anyway).

I had some trouble with some devices playing nice with ViaTalk. My final solution was to get one of the cheap DSL filters that you would put in line with your phone if you had DSL and put it in line with the device and the phone outlet. It is essentially a low-pass filter. It appears some higher frequency junk was coming through my system. Once I installed the filter on the device things worked great.

my latest change was to set my jitter to very high and jitter adjust to UP ONLY.
