I've got a tricky question...

I just signed up for Viatalk service. Everything works great on my Uniden cordless phone, but my GE cordless phone can only hear dial tone. GE phone won't dial outgoing (not recognized by PAP2T?) and if I am on a call with the Uniden phone, I can't get the GE phone to join the conversation. Very strange.

I know the GE phone is cheap, but it works with my old Vonage VT-100 Motorola modem.

Anyone know if I can change any of the PAP2T settings (I'm BYOD) to fix this problem? Would a firmware upgrade fix it (I'm at 3.1.9 LsC)?

TIA
John

House wiring? Splitter on the PAP2? Daisy chained? Wireless adapters? 2.4Ghz/5.8Ghz phones? Wireless router?

Does the GE work if you plug it directly into the PAP2?

I found my problem and it is a bit bizzarre...

Line 1 on my PAP2T is a home alarm monitoring service, NextAlarm.com. I wired the home alarm as instructed, which means the 'hot' 2 lines coming from the Pap2t go directly to the alarm panel (R & T) and the 'cold' 2 lines attach to the alarm panel (R1 and T1), like they would go to normal house phones. Well, that meant, in essence, the hot lines were coming back to the Pap2t when the alarm was not in use.

Anyway, once I disconnected R1 and T1 from the alarm panel, all was fixed. I could have fixed this my using a 2 line phone cord from the Pap2t to my house wiring.

I doubt many other people will encounter something like this, but it is now documented...
