It would be great if we had MP3 Pro / MP3 downloads... MP3 Pro preferably since MP3 pro is able to eliminate frequency ranges that you don't need...
Just a Idea...

This would be a good way to conserve bandwidth since the file size would be greatly reduced. I would imagine there would be a slight increase in recording quality, although it was still recorded on a telephone.
Granted since the files are short the files aren't that big to begin w/, and this would require some people to download a decoder. So I thing there should be a wav/mp3 option.

I guess it really comes down to the licensing really that is the only problem and if someone already owns the patient for it.

Yes. It would be a nice way to save some bandwidth (and file size) for a VM.
OTOH I also like my VT pricing. And I don't know what the licensing costs for MP3 would be. So if they costs were "too high", I would rather have VT save the money on licensing (and continue to use it to keep prices for their service down)...

If VT gets the email for the voicemail to be better so you can have more flex, then, I would like a more compact audio file attached. I save all emails, so wav files swamp the store files.
VT says a new control panel should roll out in a few weeks but no details of what will change.

There probably isn't a licensing cost involved with .wma, as far as in house creation of sound files, and transmitting them. If they were to distribute software that did that, then some licensing fees would be involved...

I voted No only because I don't really care. I listen to the message and delete it, so a little less size doesn't matter much. I guess if I planned on storing every VM, then any size reduction would be a good one.
