I just set everything up and the ethernet light is still blinking and the associated light on the modem is amber instead of green. I did a reset (unplug modem, router, adapter and then back together) but it is still blinking. Is it normal for it to take so long (about 40 mins) and still blinking? I can make calls.

The ethernet light on the ATA will continually blink. That is normal. The modem or router may show an amber light instead of green indicating that it is running at 10mb (which is also normal). If you can make and receive calls, you are good to go! :)

I was going by the instructions which read that the lights will be 'solidly lit'. But we can make phone calls. Thanks!

I'm not an expert..:redfaced: But, try powering down the whole lot for more than 30 seconds and then starting again. I have found that any problem with my modem or the TV's set top box that requires a re-boot, requires the whole lot to be properly switched off for a while for the re-boot to be effective.

In my opinion, First of all I would check that a xover cable has not been put between the router and modem as this can cause problemss. I would also reset the router as these kind of devices can crash for no reason. You can usualy restore factory settings via a reset button on the back of the router.I would also check that the cable modem is plugged in the wan connection and the pc's in the lan connection. If they are reversed it could cause this problem.
