Any ideas on this? I for one would like to record/edit a greeting on my PC and, say, save it as a .wav or .mp3 file and have the ability to upload it directly as my voicemail greeting(s).

I agree--that would be a good feature. I'm not sure how many other providers do this--I think some PAYGO providers do, but I don't think (m)any of the majors do.

This is a pretty standard thing in voice mail programs for home and biz use. This would be a nice upgrade to the voicemail system you are currently offering. It makes for the ability to produce professional sounding greetings vs. the recordings that can only be made on a telephone handset.

I agree with this feature request. I've experienced my voicemail greeting being erased on Viatalk more than once, most recently the other day. It would be much easier to recreate this if I had a mp3 file to upload and assign as my VM greeting.

The free cell-only Youmail rocks on this point, too (see SMS length request post) and allows you to record and upload your own greetings, in addition to using a handset or their Flash-based online recorder. Since it also emails your messages as mp3, you can use a left message as a greeting. This is extremely useful in a variety of situations.
