There is a thread going on here...
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,17652457~days=9999~start=40
Some people over the past week or two have been saying my voice has sounded robotic...I have noticed it twice when I was speaking with my wife. Nothing has changed in my set up...
It seems like quite a few others are having the same issue. Any thoughts?

I am having the same problem. Apparantly quite a few other people are. It stinks. What stinks more is that the Viatalk techs or anyone at Viatalk don't seem to want to admit there is a problem on THEIR END. One or two people I can see it being an individual issue. However, if you look at the thread at dslreports, you can see it is not isolated. It is definitely something on Viatalk's end.

I noticed this today talking to my father (who has VT). However, I am running VT on asterisk and so far (knock on wood) I have not had this problem that I know of.

I had the same problem tonight receiving a call from my wife at home (VT) in my office. Her voice also sounded a bit chopped off and robotic. We've had problems not being able to hear people, but not like this.

Was it an in-network call that you were hearing this on?

In my case, it was not a VT to VT call. I was at work (on a copper POTS line) and received a call from my wife using our VT line at home. My wife sounded robotic to me. She said I sounded fine to her.
Another time it happened, I was on our home VT line and talking to my uncle on a non-VoIP line. He said I sounded robotic (I think his term was 'cyborg'). He sounded perfectly fine to me. That night, it was fading in and out. He said I would sound normal for awhile, then I would sound robotic again. That was last Saturday night. That was the first time, I was ever told that I sounded robotic on a VT call.
