Hi,

I hope someone may be able to suggest a solution to my problem. The Linksys router that I've had for 6 years is beginning to malfunction with respect to the wireless signal. Everything connected via ethernet cables work fine but the wireless connection is beginning to die frequently. Since I enjoy being able to work around different parts of the house, I ordered a new router--a Netgear WGR614v6. It was easy enough to install and configure for the computer, but I cannot get the PAP2 to work. I've tried setting a static address and then putting it in DMZ, didn't work. I tried turning off SPI, it didn't work. I've got it on port forwarding. Any suggestions? Right now, I've got the Linksys hooked back up, but I'd like to be able to use the Netgear; I really got a strong signal around most of the house; however, I need the VOIP phone to work. TIA

Until just a couple weeks ago when I switched over to Verizon FiOS, I was using the exact same router (and version). Your Netgear router's DHCP can reserve IP addresses for devices connected to it. What I did was reserve an IP address for the PAP2 (in essence making it static without having to configure anything in the ATA). I then placed it in the DMZ. Never had any problems with the ATA with this setup. Until I did this, though, I occasionally had problems with the ATA. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Was anyone able to help you? I'm trying to set up my NetGear Wireless Router, WGR613VAL, also and could use some help.

Thanks:confused:
