I have always maintained that I pay for my phone services and until solicitors start forking out my montlhy fee they had no right interrupting me with a sales pitch. caller ID was a godsend but still the phone rang and i had to check and see if it was legit...

Many thanks to the folks who thought up the system that allows me to block unwanted solicitors and force anonymous callers to work to get through to me.

The custom call routing is also very nice IMHO.

Not only does it allow you to forward the call for some key people somewhere else (for example, your cell phone), it also lets you send some numbers you don't want to be bothered with directly to voice mail...

Or even better yet "STOP CALLING" :)

Or you can forward the calls to the Rejection Hotline.

My favorite is the custom call forwarding. My Alma Mater wouldn't stop calling me for money so I now forward all of their calls to the University Presidents office!!

Or give them the "stop calling" options and maybe they will take a hint.

I love this feature. I get calls from 000-000-0000 and those are now blocked too. Thanks ViaTalk!

We make great use of this tool... And for lots more than just the run of the mill telemmarketer. Example: At 5:55 this morning, our phone rang... Wife answered and was immediately assaulted with a male voice making obscene statements to her. She told him he had the wrong number, and he kept talking. She gave me the phone, he hung up, and I went online to block him.

Just makes me feel better to know that he can't get through again, whether it was intentional or not.
